This track was recorded on September 11th 2001. After several attempts at recording a band version it was agreed to try a different approach.
Paul & Terence recorded this late in the evening and a radio which had been brought into the control room to keep the band up to date with the horrific events unfolding in New York was utilised to add atmospheric effect.
The signal was fed into the mixing desk, the dial flicked through and if you listen you will hear live news reports detailing the days events which somehow seemed to fit the mood of the music produced that evening.

Nick Piunti's third album confirms the idiosyncratic talent of this musician who keeps churning out fantastic power-pop tunes that would rejoice even the most jaded pop-rock fan, whether young or old, if they knew about the existence of 'Beyond the Static'. POPPHIL
Don't believe the name of their latest album; jangle-pop hooks and stacked grunge guitars are two of the Bay Area band's greatest gifts. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 16, 2023
